John Golding (PsIP)

Dr. John Golding is a Principle Research Scientist in Horticultural Market Access with NSW Department of Primary Industries in Australia. John has been working in horticultural postharvest and market access development for over 25 years and his work focusses on maintaining and improving market access outcomes for industry. He has been working on the effects of phytosanitary irradiation on fresh fruit and vegetable quality in the supply chain and implementing best practice for commercial operations. He has conducted phytosanitary irradiation research with a range of commodities including blueberry, citrus, avocado, raspberry, cherry, passionfruit etc. John recently completed the postharvest quality components in the national ‘Building Capacity in Irradiation’ project and works with industry to ensure market access outcomes are met. John is also an Adjunct at the University of Newcastle in Australia and has published over 150 research papers and several books in postharvest storage and market access.
